Both of his parents graduated from UofO and his younger brother currently attends UofO as well. In Molalla, Matt worked in the forestry industry fighting fires. Kristen Davis
Kristen was born in Ashland, Oregon. She has two brothers, one older who just finished college and is currently working for her parents in a plumbing company they own, and a younger one that is starting his freshman year in the studies of environmental science. While she was in the fourth grade she discovered an interest in architecture, which has brought her to the University of Oregon as a third year student in the architecture program. Kristen's interests other than architecture consist of listening to a variety of music, watching most movies except Syriana (she hated it!), hiking, oil painting, and running on the beach. Interesting info: Kristen has one foot that is larger than the other due to an injury.
Rose Formosa
Rose grew up in Cottage Grove as the youngest of 10. She came to the University of Oregon because of the architecture program, and its proximity to her family. She is now in her 4th year of the program. Rose looks to the architect Gaudi for inspiration. She enjoys playing water polo and swimming when she gets the chance. Rose's favorite cookie is the chocolate pillow cookie, a gooey delight found at Market of Choice where she used to work. After college Rose hopes to travel extensively before beginning work, although she may end up practicing architecture in Italy.

Allyson Foster
Allyson is a 3rd-year undergraduate who hails from Oregon's own Klamath Falls. Her interest in architecture is long-lived and began while attending open houses with her father. Allyson was later counselled to consider architecture as a field of study to match her interest in mathematics, science, and art. After her first complete year at UO, Allyson was hooked and looks forward to a successful and challenging career. When enjoying the infrequent free time from her studies, Allyson enjoys working at Starbucks, eating at the Ring of Fire restaurant, and watching movies (other than the gory ones).

Her interest in architecture began at a young age when she wanted to design her future home and grew when her cousin began studying architecture. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, volleyball, tennis and ultimate frisbee, as well as watching movies, drawing, photography, and of course studying architecture at the U of O.

Martina Oxoby, Graduate Student
Martina received her undergraduate degree in psychology at Gonzaga University before choosing the University of Oregon to pursue graduate studies in Architecture. She grew up in the small town of Gardnerville, Nevada. She loved living on the edge of the Siera Mountain range, just minutes from the California border. She remembers the large mountains being beautiful and pristine. They were a gorgeous natural element that seemed to seperate her comfortable little town from the chaos of bigger cities. As she grew older, Martina realized that her community was changing and ironically it was the same mountains that once seperated her town, that now attracted newcomers and chain business development. This experience has opened her eyes to the importance of community and teamwork in order to sustain small town roots and prevent unwanted sprawl.

Erin Pearce
Erin grew up in Beaverton, Oregon just a few blocks away from the Tea family restaurant, China Bay. She enjoys baking, especialy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. One of her favorite hobbies is bunjy jumping, which she's done over 10 times in Washington wich is one of the deepest places to jump in the world. Brent is married and has two cats. For fun, he enjoys playing music and going to the movies with his wife. He is a Scorpio.

Tuấn Vũ
Tuấn is from Hà Nộ̣i, Việt Nam. He has been living and studying in the states for the last four years. During summer he often goes back to Việt Nam to visit his family, his friends and to travel. After graduating, his dream job is to aqquire an architecture job that enables him to work internationally between Viet Nam and the US. Tuan's ambition is to use the knowledge he has learned at UofO to maintain the cultural legacy of his own country's architecture.

Donny Udell
Donny is a native Oregonian and is from the small coastal town of Cannon Beach. He returns home every summer but doesn't plan on returning permanently unless of course for the possibility of raising a family there someday. His fondest memory of the community of Cannon Beach is the isolated neighborhood he grew up in. The neighborhood was surrounded by natural forest land where he and his friends would frequently play. He believes it was the informal natural environment that the coastal land had to offer that attracted many kids to the forest. It is this memory that has influenced the way he feels about the importance of preserving natural land for others to create wonderful memories.

Frank Tea
Frank was born and raised in the lovely city of Portland, Oregon. He lived there with his younger sister and parents who own a Chinese Restaurant. Frank discovered his love of architecture while in elementary school and continues to pursue his dream of becoming an architect as a third year architecture student. He also works for an architectural firm in his hometown of Portland. Recently, Frank participated in a study abroad program in Denmark. While abroad, he was exposed to a community that functioned independently from the rest of the city and had many similarities to the idea of Cohousing. Outside of school, Frank enjoys listening to some energetic dance beats and can't resist a nice sappy movie.
Organizer

Nancy Cheng
Nancy has been teaching architectural design studios and media classes at UO since 1996. She studies how tools, methods and teams shape the design process. Nancy grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, the third daughter of Chinese immigrants who came to the U.S. as students. She lived in New England from 1978-1993, going to college at Yale, working in Boston architectural firms and then getting a graduate degree at Harvard. (Her father had found going to Tsinghua University in Beijing from a small city to be a pivotal experience, so he pushed his kids to study hard and the family scrimped to save for tuition.) On a lark she applied to teach at the University of Hong Kong and has enjoyed the chance to be in school again. Nancy enjoys traveling to conferences, reading novels and bicycling. More info is on her old website.
